In this example Sightech's intelligent machine vision is effectively applied to the inspection of surgical kits. Six separately trainable inspection "Areas" are defined - one per tool. Once trained, PC-Eyebot is placed into "INSPECT" mode. If any of the tools are missing, misplaced, or switched, PC-Eyebot will send an alert via serial port and/or output relays. The camera is looking from above and the kits are back-lighted from below. PC-Eyebot can also perform the same functions without back-lighting.
Step 1: Setup Areas to check on each of the surgical tools. (above)
Step 2: Train on good surgical kits. This only takes a few seconds. It is best to train on several kits to properly train generality. (above)
Step #3: Operate in INSPECT mode. In this example, tool #1 is missing - the associated Area is highlighted with orange "Hits". (above)
Example where tool # 3 is missing and detected.. (above)
Missing tool #4 - detected and highlighted. (above)
Tool #1 and Tool #2 are switched places - both incorrect tool placements are highlighted. (above)
